IN-STORE CASH DEPOSIT LIMITS

Cash deposit limits,
clearly explained

To keep in-store cash deposits secure and compliant, Crypto Dispensers applies clear cash deposit limits. These limits define how much cash you can deposit per transaction, as well as your daily, weekly, and monthly cash deposit limits. You’ll also see when deposit limits reset, so you know exactly what to expect before making a cash deposit at the register.

Cash deposit limits reset automatically on a schedule

Deposit limits, broken down

Cash deposit limits apply in layers. Each layer controls how much cash can move through the system while keeping in-store deposits secure and compliant.

Per deposit

Per-transaction limit

$20 – $500

The amount allowed for a single in-store cash deposit. Each barcode represents one transaction and can only be used once.

24-hour window

Daily limit

Up to $1,500 per day

Deposits can be split across multiple transactions. Most locations allow up to three deposits per day, as long as daily limits are not exceeded.

Rolling 7 days

Weekly limit

Up to $3,500 per week

Tracks total deposits across a rolling seven-day period. As older deposits fall outside this window, available weekly limit is restored automatically.

Rolling usage

Monthly limit

Up to $5,000 per month

Monitors total deposit activity over a rolling monthly period. Once capacity is reached, deposits resume automatically as earlier transactions roll off.

Limits may vary by retailer, location, and account history. Your available limits are always shown before you confirm a deposit.

When deposit limits reset

Deposit limits are temporary and reset automatically over time. Understanding how each limit refreshes helps you plan deposits and avoid confusion at the register.

Daily limits

Daily deposit limits refresh on a rolling 24-hour basis. As earlier deposits age past 24 hours, available limit is restored automatically.

Rolling 24 hours
Weekly limits

Weekly limits track deposits across a rolling seven-day window. When older transactions fall outside this period, capacity becomes available again.

Rolling 7 days
Monthly limits

Monthly limits monitor overall deposit activity over time. Deposits resume automatically as earlier transactions roll off the monthly usage window.

Important to know

Limit resets happen automatically. You do not need to contact support or visit a store to trigger a reset. If a deposit is unavailable, one or more limits have not yet refreshed.

What happens if you hit a deposit limit?

Deposit limits behave like system states — not errors. If a deposit isn’t available, the system is simply enforcing timing rules that refresh automatically.

Limit reached

You can’t generate a new store barcode

When one or more limits are reached, the system pauses new barcode generation. This prevents starting a deposit that cannot be completed at the store.

What this means: Wait for the relevant limit to refresh, then generate a new barcode.

Timing overlap

The deposit can’t be completed at checkout

In rare cases, limits may be reached between barcode creation and checkout. When this happens, the store cannot complete the transaction.

What this means: Do not hand over cash. Generate a new barcode once limits have refreshed.

Layered limits

Daily limit reached, weekly still available

Limits apply in layers. Even if weekly or monthly capacity remains, daily limits must refresh before deposits can continue.

What this means: Return after the daily limit refreshes to continue depositing.

Protected system

Splitting deposits doesn’t increase limits

Deposit limits are enforced at the account level. Multiple transactions, stores, or cashiers cannot be used to bypass limits.

What this means: Limits track totals automatically across all deposits.

Deposit limits FAQ

In-store cash deposit limits

These are the most common questions we receive about in-store cash deposits, limits, and store barcodes. If something isn’t working as expected, the answer is likely below.

Why can’t I deposit more cash right now?

One or more deposit limits has been reached. Limits refresh automatically over time. This does not mean your account is blocked, restricted, or experiencing an error.

Do unused limits roll over?

No. Unused deposit limits do not carry forward. Each limit refreshes independently as earlier deposits roll off their applicable time window.

Can I visit multiple stores to deposit more cash?

No. Deposit limits apply to your Crypto Dispensers account, not to a specific store, cashier, or location. All deposits are tracked together.

What happens if a deposit can’t be completed at the register?

If a deposit cannot be completed, do not hand over cash. This usually means a limit was reached between barcode generation and checkout. You can generate a new barcode once limits refresh.

Is the store barcode the same as my wallet QR code?

No. Your wallet QR code is used to receive Bitcoin. The Crypto Dispensers store barcode is used only to deposit cash at a participating retailer.

Do deposit limits change over time?

Yes. Limits may adjust automatically based on account history, verification status, or compliance requirements. Any changes are applied system-wide.

Do I need to contact support to reset a limit?

No. Limits refresh automatically. Support cannot manually reset deposit limits before their scheduled refresh.

You can view your current limits and deposit availability directly inside your Crypto Dispensers account.
