Bank wire preparation
Before sending a wire from your credit union, check whether it permits the payment and what it needs from you. Use this visual guide and printable checklist to prepare the account, instructions and receiving wallet.

You may be able to fund a Bitcoin purchase from a credit-union account if your institution allows the outgoing payment and the purchase provider accepts your account after the required checks. A credit union offering wire transfers does not mean it approves every recipient, purpose or amount. Confirm your own request before sending money.
For a Crypto Dispensers purchase, start with our Bitcoin wire-transfer service. Create your request, complete the applicable verification and wait for the current approved instructions. Your credit union sends dollars to the bank destination on those instructions. Bitcoin delivery happens later, after receipt, review and your final-price approval.
Two transfers, with a purchase between them
Confirm that your account can send the proposed domestic wire, then authorize it through the institution’s approved process.
We review receipt and the required purchase details. You approve the final price and Bitcoin amount before we complete the purchase.
Bitcoin is sent to the confirmed supported destination. A Bitcoin transaction ID tracks this stage; your bank reference tracks the earlier wire.
Do not put a Bitcoin address into a bank-account field. A bank routing number and a wallet address are different kinds of destination. See why a bank wire cannot be sent directly to a Bitcoin wallet.
An ACH or external-account transfer option is not proof that an outgoing wire option is available. Ask for the correct payment method. If the credit union cannot send the payment, contact our team about supported alternatives. Do not disguise the purpose or split a payment to avoid a restriction.
Public instructions help you prepare, but your credit union must confirm the actual request. For example, Navy Federal’s wire-transfer page lists the sender, payee, receiving institution and transfer details it requests. It also describes available submission channels and additional written-request requirements for some transfers. Check that current page and your account before choosing a channel.
Alliant’s published fee schedule lists outgoing domestic-wire charges separately from incoming-wire charges. That distinction matters when budgeting: the cost to send your wire is not the fee to receive it.
These are examples of where to verify wire requirements, not endorsements or confirmation that either institution accepts a particular Bitcoin purchase. Crypto Dispensers does not control another institution’s payment decisions. Sources reviewed October 14, 2026.
Three checks before authorization
Use the account approved for your purchase. Joint and business accounts are accepted after the required verification; confirm the names and authority before funding.
Copy the exact beneficiary, receiving bank and account details from the current approved instructions. Ask about any intermediary or further-credit fields you do not understand.
Confirm the wire amount and whether your institution charges its fee separately. Preserve the exact payment reference that connects the funds with your request.
Do not reuse instructions from an earlier purchase or a public example. If the institution’s form has different labels, ask its wire team and our support team how to enter the approved details. Our illustrated guide explains common instruction fields. Keep actual bank and purchase information in the verified channels for your request.
For our wire purchases, the service fee is 8% for wires below $100,000 and 5% of the full wire amount at $100,000 or more. The sending institution’s fee is separate. Review your final quote for the BTC amount and any other applicable charges before approving.
If you have a fixed total budget, money used for the credit union’s separate fee is not part of the amount wired. Use the budget and target-BTC planner to explore a hypothetical example, then confirm your actual request with our team.
Typical Crypto Dispensers processing is 1–2 days, subject to banking conditions and required review. Your institution’s cutoff, weekends or holidays can affect when a wire is sent. A submitted request, a bank debit, provider receipt and Bitcoin delivery are separate events. Sending funds does not lock the Bitcoin price. Follow the timing stages before scheduling your purchase.
Crypto Dispensers · Preparation checklist
0 of 6 checks complete.
These checks are reminders, not approval. They stay on this page and reset when you reload. Do not enter account numbers, wallet addresses or recovery words here.
This checklist does not replace the current instructions or a required bank form. Completing it does not send money, establish eligibility or approve a Bitcoin price.
After the credit union accepts your request, keep its confirmation and reference. If it is only scheduled, ask when it will actually be sent. If it says sent but receipt is unconfirmed, use the wire-tracing guide to prepare a clear question for the institution and our team.
Once funds arrive and the required review is complete, review the final Bitcoin price, net amount and wallet destination. Approve only the details you intend. After broadcast, the Bitcoin transaction record helps you follow delivery. Keep the bank, purchase and delivery records together securely.
Ready to prepare your request? Create your account to start a wire request or sign in to continue. Account creation does not authorize a payment. We publish this guide and offer the wire-purchase service described. Bitcoin prices can fall; check the current terms and costs before buying.
Your next step
Buy Bitcoin with wire, debit, credit or ACH. Sell supported crypto for USD paid to your bank, or swap between supported assets. Your account shows the options available to you.
Creating an account does not authorize a payment. Availability depends on your location, account and required checks.
