Bank funding and wallet delivery

Can you wire money directly to a Bitcoin wallet?

A bank wire sends dollars to a bank account. A Bitcoin address receives Bitcoin. Here is how the purchase connects those two steps, and which details belong in each.

A USD bank wire funds a purchase; after review and approval, a separate Bitcoin transaction reaches the receiving wallet.

The short answer

You cannot send a USD bank wire to an on-chain Bitcoin address. To use a wire to buy Bitcoin, you fund a purchase with a provider that accepts bank wires. The provider receives the dollars through its bank instructions, completes the purchase after the required checks and approval, and sends BTC through the supported delivery process.

A service may call an account a “wallet” and show bank deposit details inside it. Those details fund an account with that service. They do not turn a Bitcoin receiving address into a bank account.

If your goal is to buy through Crypto Dispensers, start with our Bitcoin wire purchase process. Get instructions for your current request before sending any money.

Follow the dollars and Bitcoin

There are two transfers with a purchase between them. Keeping those stages separate makes it easier to understand a status update.

01 · Bank wire

You send USD.

Use the bank and beneficiary details supplied for your current purchase request, including any required reference.

02 · Receipt and review

We check the funding.

The bank transfer must be received and matched to your request. Account or transaction review may still be needed.

03 · Purchase approval

You review the quote.

Confirm the price, applicable charges and BTC quantity before you approve the purchase.

04 · Wallet delivery

Bitcoin is sent.

A separate Bitcoin transaction delivers BTC to the supported address you verified. Network confirmations follow.

An educational flow, not a live status tracker or a promise that every stage finishes at the same time.

A bank's “sent” status does not mean your Bitcoin has been purchased or broadcast. Our wire timing guide explains which stage may be waiting.

Use the right receiving details

Which details belong to which transfer?

Use the recipient bank, beneficiary, account and routing details provided for your request.Use the BTC receiving address from your genuine wallet app or supported receiving account.
Include any required payment reference exactly as instructed.Confirm the supported asset and network before approving the destination.
Keep the bank's transfer receipt and reference.Keep the purchase record and Bitcoin transaction ID when available.

Do not put a Bitcoin address into a bank account-number field. Do not assume ACH instructions also accept wires. If a field is unclear, ask our team through the official site before submitting the transfer.

For the wallet step, compare the complete Bitcoin address against the trusted receiving instructions. Receiving BTC does not require giving anyone your private key or recovery phrase.

Check the cost and approval

The amount you wire is not automatically the dollar amount used to buy Bitcoin. Our wire service fee is 8% below $100,000 and 5% at $100,000 or more, deducted from the wire amount. Other applicable charges must be checked in your quote.

The wire purchase cost calculator lets you replace those sample charges with your own quote. It estimates dollars, not BTC. The final Bitcoin quantity depends on the price you approve.

Sending a request or initiating a bank wire does not lock that price. Review the actual quote and fee disclosures before approval.

Track the right transaction record

Your bank reference and a Bitcoin transaction ID describe different events. Use the record for the stage you are checking.

  • Bank says sent, provider has not confirmed receipt: contact the provider with the purchase reference, amount, date and bank transfer receipt through its official support channel. Ask your bank about its trace process if needed.
  • Funding received, Bitcoin not yet sent: check whether review, a requested document, quote approval or delivery processing is outstanding.
  • Bitcoin broadcast: use the Bitcoin transaction ID to inspect the destination, amount and confirmations on the correct network.
  • Confirmed but missing in the wallet: compare the complete receiving address and check the wallet's sync status or the receiving service's crediting rules.

A wire reference cannot be searched as a Bitcoin transaction ID. If you do not have a Bitcoin transaction ID yet, ask whether the transaction has been broadcast. Do not make another payment just because the first status is unclear.

Common questions

Can I wire dollars directly to a hardware wallet?

No. A hardware wallet helps manage the keys for crypto. It does not supply a USD bank account for an on-chain Bitcoin address. You can fund a purchase with a provider and use a compatible Bitcoin receiving address for delivery.

Does a bank wire automatically buy Bitcoin?

No. A wire funds the request. The provider's purchase process, required reviews and approval still apply. Check the order status rather than treating the bank receipt as a purchase confirmation.

Can I send ACH to the wire instructions?

Only use the payment method stated in the instructions for that request. Do not assume the same account and routing details accept both. See our wire and ACH comparison if you are choosing a funding method.

What if someone tells me to wire funds to a “safe Bitcoin wallet”?

Pause and independently verify the request. A Bitcoin address cannot receive a USD wire, and urgency does not make a recipient trustworthy. Contact your bank promptly if you already sent a questionable wire, and use official support for a purchase you recognize.
