Can a brokerage account fund a Bitcoin wire purchase?

Yes. Crypto Dispensers accepts wires sent directly from a customer’s brokerage account after the required verification. Tell our team the brokerage name, account type and legal account owner before sending money. We confirm the instructions for your purchase; your brokerage decides whether it can send that payment from your account.

You do not automatically need to move the cash to a separate bank first. An intermediate bank transfer may be needed if your brokerage cannot send the approved wire. Confirm that route with our team before moving funds, because the sending-account details and timing will change.

Review our Bitcoin wire-transfer service for the purchase steps, current costs and account requirements. When you are ready, start your wire request and wait for the instructions approved for that request.

Check cash available to withdraw, then arrange the wire.

Cash and Bitcoin move through separate stages

  1. Cash is available to withdrawCheck the withdrawable balance, holds and any pending settlement with the brokerage.
  2. The brokerage releases the wireUse the approved beneficiary and reference details. Keep the wire receipt.
  3. We receive and review the fundsReceipt, account matching and required review happen before the final purchase step.
  4. You approve the Bitcoin quoteReview the final price, fees, net BTC and confirmed wallet before approving.
  5. Bitcoin is deliveredKeep the purchase receipt and Bitcoin transaction record. A bank reference is not a Bitcoin transaction ID.

The illustration shows the stages, not a promised schedule. Brokerage release, bank processing, verification and Bitcoin delivery each have their own conditions. A wire sent today does not guarantee a completed purchase today.

Buying power is not the same as withdrawable cash.

A portfolio value includes investments. Buying power can also include credit or money that is not yet available to transfer out. Neither number, by itself, tells you how much cash you can wire. Look for the brokerage’s available-to-withdraw amount and confirm that it can fund this specific wire.

A recent deposit

A deposit may be usable for trading while a withdrawal hold still applies. Ask when it becomes available for an external wire.

A recent investment sale

Sale proceeds may require settlement before withdrawal. Confirm the actual release date for the asset and account instead of assuming the trade date is the wire date.

Fidelity’s processing and hold-period guidance illustrates this distinction: trading access can begin before funds are available for withdrawal. That does not establish another brokerage’s rules or guarantee that a brokerage will approve a payment to us.

This guide explains funding logistics. It does not recommend selling investments, using margin or withdrawing retirement funds. If the money is in a retirement, restricted or managed account, resolve its withdrawal conditions before arranging a purchase.

Ask the brokerage about the exact outgoing payment.

Brokerage wire questions to confirm before funding
ConfirmWhy it matters
Can this account send a domestic USD wire to the approved recipient? An external transfer or linked-bank option may be different from an outgoing third-party wire.
Which owner and account details appear on the wire?We need to match the funding to your verified purchase request, including joint or business ownership where relevant.
Is the full amount available to withdraw?A balance can include pending proceeds, holds or credit that cannot be used for this payment.
What cutoff, fee and authorization apply?A wire may require additional approval or miss the same-day processing window.
Can the purchase reference be included exactly? The reference helps the receiving team identify your funds. Confirm any field-length restriction before submission.

Use your brokerage’s authenticated website, app or official support channel. Do not rely on a screenshot of someone else’s wire instructions.

If the brokerage cannot send the wire, confirm the next step.

Pause the purchase funding and explain the limitation to our team. If you move cash to your own bank, the bank becomes the sender for the final wire. Confirm the bank account and updated instructions with us before sending the purchase funds.

Do not route the purchase through a friend’s account or split transfers to get around an account restriction. A different funding route does not remove ownership, source-of-funds or eligibility checks. For shared or company ownership, read our joint and business account guide.

Two possible routes

Approved direct route

Your verified brokerage account → approved receiving bank → purchase review → price approval → your confirmed wallet.

Bank route, if needed and approved

Your brokerage → your verified bank account → approved wire instructions → purchase review and Bitcoin delivery.

Match the recipient, reference and amount.

Compare the brokerage’s wire-entry screen with the current instructions issued for your request. Confirm the beneficiary name, bank details, wire routing number, account number and required reference. If a field does not fit or the brokerage asks for information you do not have, stop and clarify it before submitting.

A brokerage account number, a bank account number and a Bitcoin receiving address serve different purposes. A bank wire sends dollars to a bank account. Your confirmed Bitcoin address is used later for the cryptocurrency delivery.

Our wire-instruction guide explains the fields. Verify any instruction change through an established contact route, independently of the message announcing the change.

Allow for separate costs and separate clocks.

Our wire service fee is 8% below $100,000 and 5% at $100,000 or more, deducted from the full wire amount. Your bank or brokerage may charge separately. The final purchase quote confirms the Bitcoin amount and any other applicable costs. Sending money does not lock the Bitcoin price.

For example, a hypothetical $10,000 wire has an $800 service fee and leaves $9,200 before other applicable purchase or delivery costs. A separate brokerage wire fee adds to your cash outlay. The Bitcoin quantity depends on the final price you approve.

Our usual wire-purchase processing time is 1–2 days, subject to review, banking and network conditions. Brokerage cash availability or withdrawal processing can add time before that purchase process begins. See the complete wire-cost breakdown and wire versus ACH funding.

Prepare your brokerage-funded request.

Before you authorize the wire

Mark the items you have confirmed. This tool stays in your browser and does not submit an application.

Complete the preparation checks.

Keep the right records after sending.

Save the brokerage wire confirmation and purchase reference privately. If the brokerage shows the wire as sent but your purchase has not progressed, ask the team to check receipt and matching. Do not submit a second payment just because a Bitcoin transaction ID is not yet available.

After required review, read the final quote and approve it only when the amount, price and destination are clear. Keep the final purchase receipt and delivery record alongside the funding confirmation.

Review our Bitcoin wire-transfer service for the purchase steps, current costs and account requirements. When you are ready, start your wire request and wait for the instructions approved for that request.
