Can you buy Bitcoin with a wire from an online bank?

You may be able to use an online bank if your account supports outgoing domestic wires, the bank permits the payment and you meet our account requirements. A banking app that offers transfers does not necessarily offer the wire service you need. Start with those checks before arranging a purchase.

For a Crypto Dispensers purchase, review our Bitcoin wire-transfer service and start a request before sending money. We issue instructions for your purchase after the required steps. Joint and business accounts are accepted after required verification. Tell our team which account you intend to use.

Prepare the bank payment and Bitcoin delivery.

Four separate stages

Prepare your request

Complete the required account and funding checks. Get the instructions issued for this purchase.

Send through your bank

Use its domestic wire service, match every instruction and keep the receipt.

Approve your price

After funds arrive and required reviews finish, review the quote, costs and Bitcoin amount.

Confirm wallet delivery

Verify your receiving address before approval, then follow the transaction and wallet status.

Sending the bank wire does not lock your Bitcoin price. You approve the final price after your funds arrive. Keep the bank receipt and purchase confirmation as separate records.

Find the wire option in your bank’s own instructions.

These examples show where two online banks describe wire requests. They are not a list of banks that approve cryptocurrency payments. Confirm your recipient, purpose and account eligibility directly with your bank.

If you use another online bank or a financial app, ask the institution holding your account which outgoing wire service is available; do not assume its partner-bank details are sending instructions.

What if your app only shows “Transfer money”?

I have not confirmed an outgoing wire option

Ask: “Can this account send a domestic wire to the beneficiary shown on my purchase instructions, for a Bitcoin purchase?” Confirm the service, purpose, fee and limits. An ACH transfer, bill payment or transfer between your own accounts is a different instruction.

My bank confirmed this payment is eligible

Complete our required verification, obtain your current wire instructions and compare every field in your bank’s wire form. Ask our team about any mismatch before submitting.

My account cannot send this wire

Do not substitute ACH into wire instructions or send from someone else’s account. Ask our team about an eligible funding account or the separate ACH purchase option. If money must first move between your own accounts, allow it to clear and keep the funding records.

Match the instructions before submitting.

  • Account ownership: use the approved funding account. Tell us about a joint or business account before sending.
  • Beneficiary and receiving bank: copy the complete current instructions, including any required intermediary or further-credit fields.
  • Wire routing and account numbers: do not replace them with an ACH routing number or a number found in an online search.
  • Reference: enter the purchase reference exactly as instructed. If the form has no suitable field, ask before proceeding.
  • Wallet: obtain the Bitcoin receiving address from your own trusted wallet and verify the complete destination.

See the illustrated wire-instruction guide for a field-by-field explanation. Only use the actual instructions issued for your request.

Check costs, available funds and timing.

Your bank’s outgoing-wire charge is separate from the purchase costs. Check whether it requires the fee in addition to the amount you send, and whether your available balance covers both. Confirm daily limits, any restrictions on a new account, the cutoff time and its time zone.

Our current wire service fee is 8% below $100,000 and 5% at $100,000 or more, deducted from the whole wire amount. Review any additional charges and the final BTC amount in your quote. Our service has no minimum or maximum wire purchase amount; your bank’s limits and required reviews still apply.

Wire purchases usually process within 1–2 days. Bank schedules, verification and compliance reviews can extend the timing. A bank’s same-day wire estimate is not a promise of same-day Bitcoin delivery. Use our wire fee calculator and purchase-timing guide to plan the separate steps.

Check your preparation before you send.

Your online-bank wire checklist

0 of 6 checks complete. This checklist does not authorize a wire.

Your selections stay on this page and reset when it reloads. Do not enter bank details here.

After sending, keep the receipt and follow your request.

Save the amount, date and bank reference. Your bank’s “sent” status does not prove that our receiving account has credited the wire. If you need an update, contact our team with your request reference before sending another payment.

Once the funds and required checks are complete, review the final price and wallet details. After Bitcoin is sent, a transaction identifier and your receiving wallet help you follow its confirmation status.
