June confirmed that ETF flows were not a secondary indicator. They were a central transmission mechanism for the selloff.
Record outflows met a restrictive policy backdrop.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $4.06 billion in June net outflows according to reporting based on SoSoValue data.
On June 17, the Federal Reserve maintained the federal funds target range at 3.50% to 3.75%. The statement said inflation remained elevated and cited energy-related supply shocks.
Bitcoin traded below $60,000 during the month. Rebounds lacked the sustained institutional demand required to reverse the broader decline.
June was a capitulation and stabilization test.
The month produced a deep drawdown, record institutional redemptions, and broad weakness across major crypto assets. Bitcoin stabilized near $60,000 late in the month, but the recovery was not confirmed until July.
