The cash-out process at a glance

To sell USDT for USD, choose a provider that accepts USDT on the blockchain you hold it on and supports bank payouts for your location. Review the net dollar quote, complete verification, follow the current deposit instructions and request the bank payout when the funds are available.

USDT is issued on multiple blockchains. The token symbol alone does not tell you which deposit address to use. Your provider must support the same network and the USD withdrawal method you need.

Our main guide to transferring crypto to a bank account covers the full process from choosing a selling provider to receiving dollars.

Follow these cash-out steps

1. Identify your USDT network

Check the network in the wallet or exchange where you hold USDT. Keep that information with the amount you plan to sell. Use the token details supplied by your wallet to distinguish the intended asset from lookalike tokens.

2. Confirm both deposit and USD payout support

Ask the selling provider whether it can accept that exact USDT network for your account and location. Check its USD sale availability, bank method and limits before you create the transfer.

3. Compare the dollars you will receive

Review the USDT amount, quoted USD proceeds, service or trading costs, bank-withdrawal charges and any network fee paid separately. A stablecoin’s intended dollar peg does not guarantee an exact dollar of spendable bank proceeds for each token.

4. Get fresh instructions for this sale

Use the provider’s current USDT deposit address and selected network. Check minimum deposits, confirmations, any memo requirement and order expiry. If the provider uses one-time addresses, create a new order for each sale.

5. Transfer and complete the USD sale

Approve the transfer only after matching the instructions. Wait for the provider to credit the deposit. Review any updated quote and complete the sale under the actual order terms.

6. Withdraw the available USD balance

Choose the verified bank account and eligible payout method. Save the sale receipt, crypto transfer ID and bank-payment reference. Track any hold separately from the bank processing estimate.

Check your USDT network before choosing a deposit

Choose the network shown by your sending wallet, then compare it with the provider’s current USDT deposit screen.

Choose the options above, then show your checklist.

This educational checklist uses your selections on this page. It does not access a wallet or provider account.

Research and worked examples

We checked network support and U.S. bank-payout documentation separately on November 2, 2026. The table shows selected networks documented publicly. Your current deposit screen and account eligibility still need to match.

A network mismatch example

You hold USDT on Tron, while the receiving screen says USDT on Ethereum. The matching ticker is insufficient. Choose receiving instructions that expressly accept your sending network, or ask the provider about an accepted alternative before moving funds.

Holding USDT in a wallet you control? Follow the sending steps for Trust Wallet, Phantom Wallet or MetaMask after confirming that the receiving provider accepts your exact USDT network.

Compare two offers for the same USDT amount

Enter the USD payout shown after the provider’s included charges. Subtract only additional costs paid separately, expressed in USD. Use the same crypto amount and similar quote times. This comparison does not fetch prices or establish a provider’s current rate.

Use the same USDT amount for both offers. Enter the payout after costs already included by the provider. Enter only additional costs in the separate-cost fields to avoid subtracting a fee twice. Amounts stay on this page.

Enter both offers to compare the estimated net USD.

For example, an illustrative $495 payout with $3 paid separately leaves $492. These example amounts are not observed quotes. This tool does not include tax or costs you have not entered.

Keep your sale records

Record the USDT network, units sent, transaction ID, quote time, net USD proceeds and separately paid costs. Match the deposited network to the actual receiving instructions. For U.S. reporting questions, see the IRS digital-asset guidance and your tax professional.
