To cash out crypto from a self-custody wallet, choose an eligible selling service that supports your asset and network, complete its account checks, and review the USD bank payout. Follow the current order’s receiving instructions, verify and sign the transfer in your wallet, then track the sale and bank payment.
A self-custody wallet gives you control of signing access. To receive dollars, you also need a supported conversion and payout service. Depending on your wallet, you may see a third-party Sell option or send crypto to a provider you choose separately.
For the complete payout process, read how to transfer crypto to a bank account. To review our available service, explore selling crypto for a USD bank payout.
The wallet may show offers from independent providers. Check which company handles the sale, identity checks, crypto deposit and bank payment. Read its terms and support details.
You can check an eligible exchange or selling service that accepts the asset and network you hold. Create the required account or sale order before obtaining its current receiving instructions.
For example, Trezor Suite’s official selling guide describes selecting a payout method, country and provider, then reviewing offers. The example screens do not establish that every displayed option is available in the United States or to your account.
Check the actual bank payout offered for your location, the asset, its network, minimums and maximums. If your wallet has no eligible Sell offer, compare a supported external service before sending anything.
Crypto Dispensers offers supported crypto sales for USD bank payouts. Your account and sale preview determine the available options. Our team can help you understand the current instructions.
Open the asset details in your wallet. Record the asset and network, then compare them with the provider’s deposit instructions. Native Bitcoin and wrapped Bitcoin tokens have different transfer requirements. A matching ticker or a similar-looking address does not establish compatibility.
Use its official website or app. Complete the required identity checks and confirm that your receiving bank meets its ownership and payout requirements. Read the net dollars, quote conditions, expected timing and return terms.
Your wallet needs the fee asset required by its network. For an Ethereum token transfer, gas is paid in ETH. Other networks have their own requirements. Check the final wallet preview and the amount the sale order must receive. See Ethereum’s gas documentation for how that network charges fees.
A provider can need a receiving address or transaction ID to help with a sale. Keep your recovery phrase, private keys and signing credentials private. A cash-out service should not need you to import your wallet backup into a website or send it to support. Follow your wallet maker’s official instructions for signing and recovery.
Trezor’s phishing guidance and MetaMask’s security guidance explain why recovery information must stay private.
MoonPay’s selling instructions, for example, require a new sale order and a current deposit address. Check the rules of the specific provider handling your sale.
Check before splitting an order. A sale can have a minimum deposit, an exact amount, a deadline or rules about multiple transfers. A small test below the minimum or a partial payment can leave the order incomplete. If testing is permitted, account for both sending fees and recheck the later transfer’s details.
Stop before signing if something differs. After broadcast, contact the sending wallet’s official support and the receiving provider with the TXID and order details. Recovery may be unavailable, particularly for unsupported assets or networks. A refund wallet cannot guarantee recovery of a mistaken transfer.
Network confirmation, provider processing and bank settlement are separate stages. Check whether the provider pays the bank directly or first credits a cash balance that you must withdraw.
| Stage | Check this record |
|---|---|
| Did the wallet send the crypto? | The sending history and TXID. If no transfer was broadcast, investigate the wallet or account message. |
| Did the provider receive and match it? | The current order’s deposit status, supported network and required confirmations. |
| Was the sale completed? | The sale receipt, net USD proceeds and any requested verification. |
| Was the bank payout initiated? | The payout reference, selected bank and arrival estimate. |
| Did the bank post the dollars? | The receiving account’s posted transaction. Contact the bank if the provider’s completed payout is overdue. |
Read our crypto-to-bank guide for the full withdrawal process and delayed-payout checklist. Keep acquisition records, sale proceeds and fees with the transfer records. The IRS digital-assets guidance explains U.S. recordkeeping; a sale for dollars can have tax consequences.
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| Insufficient gas or network fee | The required fee asset and the wallet preview. Confirm how the fee affects the amount delivered. |
| No eligible Sell option | The provider’s country, asset, network, bank and account requirements. Verify an alternative before moving funds. |
| A balance you cannot send | Whether it is watch-only, staked, locked or otherwise restricted, and whether the necessary signing device is available. |
| Deposit sent but order pending | The TXID, exact asset/network, amount received, confirmations and any required verification. |
| Sale completed but no bank deposit | Whether a separate cash withdrawal is needed and whether the payout has actually been sent. |
If a purported support agent asks for your recovery phrase, remote access or an extra crypto payment to unlock a withdrawal, pause and verify the request through the official provider. Our selling safety guide covers checks before sending.
Start by reviewing our selling service and the options available in your account. Complete the required checks, review the supported asset and network, net USD payout and estimate, then follow the current order instructions. If a refund address is required, use one you control on the supported network and read the return conditions.
For a full cost comparison, read our crypto cash-out fees guide. Include costs charged by your sending wallet separately from charges already included in the sale quote.

A hardware wallet helps authorize crypto transactions. A supported selling provider handles conversion and a bank payout. Some wallet apps display third-party selling offers; confirm the provider and the payout available to you.
The process depends on the provider. Some sales use a wallet connection; others provide a receiving address for a transfer you approve in your wallet. Use the current official instructions and read any permissions before signing.
Keep it private. Do not enter recovery words into a cash-out website or give them to a support agent. Follow your wallet maker’s official signing and recovery instructions.
Check the provider’s minimums and limits and the wallet’s sending fee. Enter the exact amount you want to sell and confirm the amount the order needs to receive before signing.
A watch-only wallet can display an address or balance without the signing keys. You need legitimate signing access through the appropriate wallet or device to spend those funds. A website offering to unlock a watched balance for a payment is a warning sign.
A confirmation concerns the crypto transfer. Check the provider’s sale status and bank-payout reference, then the receiving bank’s posted transaction, to follow the remaining stages.
