MetaMask / USD bank payouts
Start with the token in your wallet. We’ll help you check where you can sell it, what the transfer will cost and how to follow the dollars to your bank.

Sell supported crypto for USD through an eligible provider in MetaMask’s Sell feature, or send it to an exchange that accepts your exact token and network, sell there and request a bank withdrawal. Review the current quote, receiving instructions and bank-payout conditions before sending.
This guide focuses on USD bank payouts. For the complete sale-to-deposit process, start with our guide to transferring crypto proceeds to a bank account.
Check the Sell options for your actual location and balance. Compare an available bank-payout quote with the cost of sending the crypto.
Confirm deposit support, USD selling and bank withdrawals in your own account before sending. Keep the exchange deposit and bank withdrawal records together.
If MetaMask selling is unavailable in your region, its official alternative guidance describes transferring to an exchange. The exchange must support both your token and its network. Changing a region selection does not establish eligibility.
Our self-custody cash-out guide covers choosing a receiving service and checking signing requests. Crypto Dispensers offers selling services and has a commercial interest in links to our service; this guide also explains options you can use independently.
MetaMask’s current selling guide describes these steps. The available provider, tokens and networks depend on your location.
If MoonPay is the provider you select, our MoonPay sale and bank-payout guide explains the order and payout records. MoonPay instructs customers to create a fresh sell order and use its unique deposit address. It also sets minimum amounts and requires the correct asset, network and specified transfer amount. Check those instructions before funding; an address from an earlier order can cause a failed cash-out.
First check your verified exchange account for the exact deposit asset and network, the ability to sell for USD and an eligible bank destination. Resolve a missing deposit option before transferring. MetaMask’s unsupported-region guidance emphasizes network and token support when using this alternative.
For example, Coinbase’s cash-out instructions ask you to check the available cash balance, choose a destination and review the withdrawal details and fees. Keep the sale and withdrawal confirmations as separate records.
MetaMask’s sending guide shows the current extension and mobile controls. Some supported transactions can pay network fees with another token; others require the network’s native asset. Read the fee payment shown for your transaction.
Use this worksheet beside your wallet and the receiving provider’s official instructions. Leave any unresolved row blank and ask that provider before sending.
| Record | What to write down |
|---|---|
| Wallet holding | Account, token, network and available amount. |
| Receiving support | The provider’s matching token and network, deposit minimum and any required memo or tag. |
| Current transfer | The full receiving address, exact amount and order reference when applicable. |
| Sending cost | The fee amount and fee-payment asset shown by your wallet. |
| Expected USD | The bank deposit shown in the offer, separate costs and quote conditions. |
| Payout record | Selected bank method, arrival estimate and payment reference when issued. |
Suppose your wallet shows ETH on Base while your receiving instructions say Ethereum Mainnet. The token name alone leaves a network mismatch unresolved. Ask whether the receiver supports ETH deposits on Base and obtain matching instructions. Switching the network displayed in your wallet does not move the token to another blockchain.
A swap or bridge can introduce another quote, fee and transfer risk. Confirm the final receiving support before considering either. Our USDT cash-out guide explains similar checks for stablecoins on different networks.
For a small test, first confirm deposit minimums and whether the receiving service accepts partial or multiple deposits. A below-minimum test can create its own problem.
Compare offers for the same token quantity and USD bank destination at roughly the same time. Record the net bank payout and each charge you pay separately. Use our crypto cash-out fees guide to avoid subtracting a fee twice.
Offer A shows a $975 bank deposit and you estimate a separate $4 wallet sending cost. Its economic proceeds are $971. Offer B shows $981, but you estimate $12 of separate transfer and withdrawal costs. Its economic proceeds are $969.
On those assumptions, A leaves you $2 more even though B shows the larger initial payout. These invented figures illustrate the comparison; they are not MetaMask, MoonPay or Crypto Dispensers rates. Recheck the actual quotes and fee estimates before acting.
A percentage charge may already be included in a quote. Check its breakdown along with any spread, network charge, cash-withdrawal fee and receiving-bank charge. Keep enough balance for the fee payment your wallet requires.
Count from the stage your order has actually reached. A blockchain confirmation records a crypto transfer; the provider must still complete the sale and bank-payout steps. Use the estimate on your order rather than planning around an assumed instant arrival.
As one dated example, MoonPay’s selling documentation, checked November 2, 2026, lists 3 to 5 working days for U.S. bank payouts. That example is provider-specific and excludes a promise for your account. Our crypto-to-bank timing guide explains processing stages, weekends and business-day counting.
Save acquisition records, sale proceeds, fees, dates, transaction IDs and the bank confirmation. The IRS digital-assets guidance explains U.S. reporting and recordkeeping. A sale can create a taxable gain or loss; ask a qualified tax professional about your circumstances.
| What you see | What to check next |
|---|---|
| No usable Sell option | Confirm your actual region and available quote. Check an eligible exchange’s deposit and bank-payout support before transferring. |
| A fee or balance warning | Review the wallet’s requested fee payment and available balance. Reduce the sending amount only if the order permits it. |
| Crypto transaction pending | Open Activity and the network explorer. Keep the transaction ID and review MetaMask’s official pending-transaction help. |
| Crypto confirmed, provider still waiting | Compare the network, receiving address, amount and required confirmations with the order. Contact the receiving provider with the transaction ID. |
| Sale complete, bank deposit missing | Check for a separate withdrawal request, required review or an outstanding quote update. Ask the provider for the bank-payment reference and expected arrival. |
Use our delayed crypto-to-bank transfer guide for a support-message template and the records each stage needs. Share bank or identity details only through the provider’s secure support process.
Keep your recovery phrase and private keys private. MetaMask’s support guidance explains how to find its official help and warns that support will never ask for your recovery phrase. A demand to send extra crypto to “unlock” a bank payout deserves independent checking.
For a standard USD bank payout, sell through an eligible provider and use its bank-payment instructions. Enter blockchain receiving addresses only in crypto-transfer fields.
Check a selling service that supports the exact stablecoin and network you hold, plus your USD payout destination. Confirm receiving support before sending or swapping.
Compare the token quantity, conversion price, included charges and separate sending costs. A wallet valuation can differ from the actual sale offer.
Follow the provider’s order status and cancellation rules. Disconnecting a wallet should not be treated as cancellation of a submitted crypto transfer or sale order. Ask the provider before taking another action.
