Crypto transfers / Timing and costs
Litecoin targets a 2.5-minute average block interval. Your actual wait also depends on when the sender broadcasts the transaction, the recipient’s confirmation requirements and its deposit processing. Start by finding which stage is waiting.

Litecoin targets a new block every 2.5 minutes on average. An individual block can take more or less time. Your transfer first needs to be broadcast, then included in a block. A receiving platform may wait for further confirmations before making the deposit available.
The target interval is defined in Litecoin Core’s network parameters. It is a network setting, not a delivery promise from your wallet or purchase provider.
Use three timestamps when investigating a delay: when you submitted the request, when the sender broadcast the transaction, and when the receiving service credited it. A receipt marked “processing” may describe the first stage.
| What you can see | What to check next | Who can help |
|---|---|---|
| Order pending; no transaction ID supplied | Check payment, verification, review requests and whether the sender has broadcast it. Ask for the current status and transaction ID if available. | The sending wallet or purchase provider. |
| Transaction found with zero confirmations | Confirm the network and destination. The transaction is visible to that explorer, but has not yet been included in a block in its view. | The sending wallet or provider can explain the transaction and supported options. |
| Confirmations increasing; balance unavailable | Compare the recipient’s required count, minimum deposit and network support. Check its maintenance notice. | The receiving platform. |
| Required confirmations reached; deposit missing | Compare the exact address, amount, token/network and deposit conditions. Save the explorer link and contact the recipient. | The receiving platform; do not assume another payment will fix it. |

A transaction ID can be available before a transaction is confirmed. Search it with an explorer for the Litecoin network. If nothing appears, recheck the complete ID and network, then ask the sender whether it was broadcast. One explorer failing to find it does not, by itself, prove a failed payment.
Public explorer searches can expose an address and transaction history to that service. Use the ID or address only; never enter a recovery phrase, password or private key.
Once a transaction is in a block accepted by the network, it has its first confirmation. Each subsequent block increases the count while that block remains in the accepted chain. The recipient decides how many confirmations it requires.
| Required count | Count × 2.5-minute target | How to use this figure |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2.5 minutes | A block-interval illustration. Inclusion and provider processing may add time. |
| 6 | 15 minutes | A planning illustration, not a fixed maximum wait. |
| 12 | 30 minutes | Check the receiving platform’s actual requirement. |

The arithmetic assumes inclusion in the next block and average intervals. It cannot predict a particular transfer’s completion time. A higher fee also cannot guarantee an exact confirmation time.
Checked November 2, 2026: Coinsquare’s deposit table lists six Litecoin confirmations and an approximate 15 minutes. Paxos’s platform documentation lists 20 and an approximate 50 minutes. These examples describe those providers’ published requirements. Check your recipient’s current instructions.
Wait for support guidance before repeating a purchase or withdrawal. If a wrong network or unsupported transfer type is involved, recovery depends on the recipient and may be unavailable. Never pay a stranger an “unlock” or “release” fee.

Keep this record in a private note. Send it through the provider’s official support channel when needed:
A useful question is: “Has this transaction been broadcast, and if so, which receiving requirement remains unmet?” Keep screenshots free of passwords, verification codes and recovery phrases.
It can confirm quickly, but 2.5 minutes is an average target block interval. Broadcast timing, block inclusion, additional confirmations and provider processing affect availability.
The first confirmation requires inclusion in an accepted block. Litecoin targets 2.5-minute block intervals, and the recipient may require several confirmations. Check the actual transaction and recipient’s requirements.
Check the full address, network, deposit minimum, required confirmation count and maintenance notices. A platform may need to complete its own crediting process after network confirmation. Contact the recipient with the transfer record.
Check the existing transfer with official support before repeating it. A second transfer may create a duplicate payment and does not repair incorrect destination details.
A purchase can include funding, verification and provider review before wallet delivery. The blockchain stage starts after a transaction is broadcast. Follow the order’s actual status.
