Bitcoin troubleshooting
If a Bitcoin ATM declines a purchase, first establish whether the machine accepted any cash. Keep the receipt, record the error and identify the operator. Then check the specific transaction's limit or verification message before attempting another purchase.
A failed purchase is not the same as Bitcoin sent to the wrong address, and neither is the same as a transaction awaiting confirmation. The evidence determines the next step. Crypto Dispensers no longer operates Bitcoin ATMs; this guide explains the wider market and how to distinguish an ATM issue from our retail cash-loading service.

| What happened | First action | Record to keep |
|---|---|---|
| The machine rejected the purchase before accepting cash | Read the error and check the operator's requirements | Error text, location and time |
| Cash went in but no clear completion screen appeared | Stop and contact the operator through an independently verified support route | Receipt, amount accepted and machine identifier |
| The purchase shows completed but Bitcoin is absent | Find the order status and any on-chain TXID | Destination address and purchase reference |
| The transaction is confirmed to the expected address | Check the receiving wallet or exchange | TXID, matching output and confirmation count |
Do not repeatedly insert cash while the first attempt is unresolved. If you cannot safely remain at the location, retain the records you can and contact the operator from a safe place.
An operator can apply per-transaction or cumulative limits and account-specific verification requirements. A number advertised for a machine may not be the amount available to your account at that moment.
CoinFlip's limits guide explains that verification and location can affect limits and that its customers may need to wait for a reset or complete additional checks. That does not establish the limits or reset schedule of every ATM operator.
If the error mentions a limit, ask which limit was reached and when the allowance becomes available. If it requests verification, use only the operator's official process and ask what information is missing. Providing additional documents does not guarantee approval.
Do not split a purchase, use another person's identity or move between machines to evade account controls. A different machine may still apply the same cumulative account limits. Read Bitcoin ATM limits for the distinction between daily and per-transaction caps.
The receipt and purchase record can establish whether the operator accepted and processed an order. They do not, by themselves, establish delivery on the Bitcoin blockchain.
If the operator says Bitcoin was sent, request the network and TXID. Compare the complete receiving address with the instructions you supplied. If the matching transaction is unconfirmed, follow the pending Bitcoin guide. If it is confirmed, investigate the receiving wallet or service.
An ordinary bank ATM receipt or a retail cash-load barcode is not interchangeable with a Bitcoin ATM purchase record. For an explanation of these records, see cash receipt, order ID and Bitcoin TXID.
Use the operator's official website or app to verify the support route. Avoid relying on a phone number posted in an unsolicited message, search-result comment or added sticker without checking it against the operator's official information.
Include the machine location, transaction date and time, exact cash amount accepted, error wording and receipt reference. If a purchase completed, add the destination and TXID when available. Keep the original receipt. Share identity documents only through the provider's legitimate verification process.
Here is an illustrative support request:
“At approximately 2:15 p.m. at the machine at [location], the machine accepted [amount] and displayed [error]. My receipt reference is [reference]. Please confirm whether the order failed, remains under review or completed, and explain the next step for the accepted cash.”
This example asks for a transaction status without assuming a refund is approved. Refund eligibility and processing depend on the operator and the transaction facts. A confirmed Bitcoin transaction cannot be reversed merely because a customer reports an issue.
Before using another method, confirm that a previous order will not also complete. Compare the total cost, available limits, verification and delivery process of any replacement route.
At Crypto Dispensers, eligible customers use participating retailers for a cash load, then make a separate Bitcoin purchase once the account balance is available. A retail cashier does not operate a Bitcoin ATM or resolve another company's ATM order. Read how cash buying works and Bitcoin POP versus Bitcoin ATMs.
For the applicable operator's rules, start with its current terms and support guidance. The CoinFlip terms, for example, reserve the ability to apply transaction limits and reject requests. They are a provider-specific reference, not a universal refund policy. Sources checked September 27, 2026.
