Louisville, Kentucky / Kiosks and cash alternatives
A map result can get you to a machine. Before inserting cash, you still need to know who operates it, what the purchase costs and whose wallet will receive the Bitcoin.
Use this guide to check a kiosk and compare the retail cash route. The Louisville stores linked here offer cashier cash loading; they are not presented as verified Bitcoin ATM locations.

01 / Before putting cash in
Find the operator’s name and verify the specific address through its current official locator or support channel. Confirm the machine is operating and supports the transaction you want. A kiosk that sells Bitcoin does not necessarily let you sell Bitcoin for cash.
This guide does not certify an individual Louisville machine as open, licensed or suitable. For the difference between registration, operating rules and consumer checks, read our Bitcoin ATM law guide. Check the rules and terms that apply to the actual provider.
02 / A different way to use cash
The Louisville retail cash directory has a July 11, 2026 snapshot. Listed examples include CVS at 2222 Bardstown Rd, CVS at 10490 Shelbyville Rd and Office Depot at 4515 Shelbyville Rd. The two Shelbyville Road addresses are different stores. Match the full address before traveling.
These examples come from the company directory, not a physical inspection. Confirm current participation, hours and account requirements. The directory describes cash loading, not a finding that a Bitcoin ATM is installed at any listed store.
Bitcoin POP (Point of Payment) starts with your account. Complete required verification and generate the cash load barcode. At a participating checkout, the cashier scans it and processes the cash load. Keep the receipt until you can match the credited balance to the transaction.
After the balance is credited, review and approve a separate eligible Bitcoin purchase in your account. Check the current account quote and wallet destination. The retailer handles the load; the purchase and cryptocurrency delivery happen separately.
Compare this route with a kiosk or an eligible online funding option using total cost, requirements and delivery conditions. A shorter drive does not establish a better quote. No provider is ranked cheapest here, and this article does not publish current company fees.
03 / Recognize the pressure
On March 18, 2026, FBI Louisville warned about callers impersonating law enforcement and government officials. The described pattern includes supposed missed jury duty or court dates, threats of arrest, secrecy and demands to deposit cash into cryptocurrency ATMs.
The FBI said legitimate law enforcement would not call to demand payment or request payment through a cryptocurrency ATM. End the conversation and independently contact the named agency. Do not rely on caller ID, a document sent by the caller or personal details they already know.
If you believe you were scammed, stop contact, notify your financial institution, protect affected accounts and report to local law enforcement and IC3. Those are the reporting steps identified in the FBI warning. A report is not a guarantee of recovery.
For a missing load or purchase, contact the provider using official support and keep the receipt, amount, date and transaction reference. Never disclose a recovery phrase to someone offering to help. The Kentucky Attorney General’s consumer protection office provides scam reporting and complaint resources; its Louisville branch handles consumer matters in the metro area.
When a service works exactly as described, Bitcoin can still fall in value. Buying locally does not remove investment risk, custody responsibilities or the need to verify where funds are going.
04 / Common questions
They are listed retail cash loading locations. This guide does not confirm that a kiosk is present at those stores. Open the exact location record and verify the service before traveling.
No. Buying Bitcoin and selling it for a cash payout are different services. Confirm that the operator and specific machine support the transaction you need.
Compare total dollars paid with Bitcoin delivered, including the quoted exchange rate and separate charges. Review the current provider quote. A single advertised percentage may not describe the full cost.
No. FBI Louisville has warned about law enforcement impersonators demanding this type of payment. End the call and verify independently through official agency contacts.
