How Bitcoin POP works

How to use Bitcoin POP, step by step.

Bitcoin POP means point of payment. It turns a familiar retail checkout into the cash-funding step for your Crypto Dispensers account. The Bitcoin purchase happens separately after the balance is credited.

Know the boundary before you visit. The cashier handles the Green Dot cash load. The cashier does not sell Bitcoin, choose a wallet, or complete a cryptocurrency transaction for you.
01

Create the barcode in your account.

Sign in or create your Crypto Dispensers account and complete any required verification. Open Add Cash, review the amount and requirements, and generate your secure retail barcode. Have it ready on your phone for the cashier to scan.

Account step
02

Bring cash to checkout.

Confirm a participating location before visiting. Show your retail barcode to the cashier, review the cash-loading fee, and hand over your cash. Keep the printed receipt. The barcode is for cash loading, not a Bitcoin wallet address.

Retail cash load
03

Check that your cash balance has posted.

Return to your Crypto Dispensers account and check the cash-loading status. A generated barcode or register receipt does not mean your balance is available. If the load is still processing, keep the receipt and check the existing activity before trying again.

Wait for credited balance
04

Review and confirm your Bitcoin purchase.

Once the cash is available, choose the cash-balance purchase route. Review the current quote, purchase fees, Bitcoin amount, and your wallet destination before confirming. The retail cash-loading fee and Bitcoin purchase costs are separate.

Separate purchase
05

Check the purchase and delivery status.

Follow the transaction status in your account. A submitted purchase is not proof that Bitcoin has reached your wallet. If a cash load or purchase remains unresolved, contact Crypto Dispensers support with the receipt or transaction reference through the Help Center.

Promotional credit eligibility

The qualifying amount is cumulative, not one transaction.

Eligible new users may receive a $25 promotional account credit after lifetime posted in-store retail cash deposits reach $100. The credit can be used toward a later, separate Bitcoin purchase.

01
Posted retail cash deposits countQualifying deposits are counted after they are posted to the eligible account.
02
Multiple deposits can reach the thresholdThe $100 threshold is based on eligible lifetime posted in-store retail cash deposits.
03
Requests and pending activity do not earn the creditSignup, barcode generation, an attempt, a receipt, or a pending load is not the same as a posted qualifying deposit.

Eligibility, verification, promotional terms, posting, availability, and program continuation apply. A promotional account credit is not a Bitcoin purchase, wallet delivery, or blockchain settlement. Last reviewed August 27, 2026.

Bitcoin POP FAQ

What to know before using cash.

Clear answers about the barcode, retail checkout, credited balance, fees, receipt, and separate Bitcoin purchase.

What is Bitcoin POP?+

Bitcoin POP is a point-of-payment cash-loading route. You generate a barcode in your Crypto Dispensers account, bring cash to a participating retail checkout, and complete a Green Dot cash load.

Do I buy Bitcoin at the retail store?+

No. The retailer completes the cash-loading transaction only. After the balance is credited, you separately review and complete an eligible Bitcoin purchase through Crypto Dispensers.

Is the Bitcoin POP barcode a wallet QR code?+

No. The barcode connects the retail cash load to your account. It is not a cryptocurrency wallet address or proof of a Bitcoin purchase.

Where can I complete the cash load?+

Use the live location finder before visiting. Participation and service availability vary by store and location.

Are there fees, limits, or verification requirements?+

They may apply and can vary. Review current account information, disclosures, and location availability before moving money.

Why should I keep the receipt?+

The receipt is your record of the retail cash-loading transaction. Keep it until the cash load is reflected correctly in your account.

What happens after my balance is credited?+

You can separately review an eligible Bitcoin purchase, confirm its details and wallet destination, and then decide whether to proceed.

Remember: cash loading, credited balance, Bitcoin purchase, and wallet delivery are separate states. A cash-load receipt is not proof that Bitcoin was purchased or delivered.
