If you have a Coinbase promo code or referral link, check the exact offer before creating an account. Eligibility, qualifying actions and rewards depend on the campaign. Coinbase can change its offers.

Which Coinbase offer are you looking at?

  • Signup code. Check whether the code must be used when creating the account and what verification is required.
  • Referral link. The invitation can require a new account created through the link and a qualifying purchase.
  • First-trade offer. Check the eligible trade, payment method and deadline shown in that campaign. Coinbase excludes referral signups from certain first-trade offers.

This guide does not list a universal code. Verify the offer through Coinbase before using a code from a coupon page or social post.

Coinbase’s new customer and referral terms

What to confirm before signing up or trading

  1. Account history. Check whether the offer requires someone who has never created a Coinbase account.
  2. Location and signup method. Confirm your country is eligible and whether the offer requires a specific code, link or entry point.
  3. Qualifying action. Record the minimum amount, payment method and interface if specified. Coinbase says Advanced and Prime trades do not count toward its standard referral qualifying purchase.
  4. Deadline and reward. Check when the qualifying period starts, how long you have and the reward amount and asset. Review the combination rules before choosing an offer.
  5. Purchase cost. Check the total charge and crypto quantity in the preview. Decide whether the purchase fits your plans even if the reward never arrives.

Compare the offer with the trade you planned

Suppose an offer requires a qualifying purchase through the standard trade screen and you planned to use Advanced. Check the campaign terms before choosing. If Advanced is excluded, the order may still execute normally without qualifying for the reward. Compare the standard purchase quote with your intended trade, including fees and the quantity of crypto you receive.

What to do if the reward is missing

Check whether the offer was attached when you signed up, whether verification and the qualifying action were completed, and whether the reward window has passed. Save the offer wording, dates and transaction reference. Contact Coinbase through the official Help Center if the terms indicate you should have received it.

If you already have an account, check the offers shown to you. Creating another account can conflict with new-customer terms. Keep passwords, verification codes and wallet recovery phrases private. Avoid anyone demanding a separate payment to unlock a reward.
