People often say “buy Ripple” when they mean XRP, the asset used on the XRP Ledger. Search for the ticker XRP. Buying XRP gives you the digital asset and does not buy shares in Ripple.
Coinbase’s simple-buy fee varies with the transaction, and the quoted price includes spread. Compare the same total budget. If two hypothetical orders each cost $100 and credit 49 XRP and 48 XRP, the effective prices are about $2.04 and $2.08 per XRP. Divide dollars paid by XRP received. These are example figures. If you plan to send the XRP, check the separate transfer preview and count each cost once.
Buying and sending are separate. A funding hold can leave crypto available to trade before it’s available to send. Check the balance you can send before planning a transfer.
Check that you’re using the Coinbase exchange account and that your location, payment method and verification status are eligible. Follow any account notice.
